Zane Trace Federal Credit Union Funds Availability Policy Amended April 12, 2004
The policy of this credit union is to make funds deposited into a share draft account available immediately upon deposit. Deposited funds may be used to pay checks that you have written or may be withdrawn up to $500.00 in cash.
However, the credit union reserves the right to place a "hold" on certain deposits for a period not to exceed the allowable time frame established by the Federal Reserve Board for that type of deposit. The following are provisions under which a "hold" may be placed:
- Third party checks
- out-of-state checks
- checks in your name drawn on another financial institution
- a redeposit of a check that has been returned unpaid
- you have overdrawn your share draft account in the past
- we have reason to believe the check will not be paid
If we are not going to make any portion of the funds that you deposited by check available to you immediately, we will notify you at the time you make the deposit. We will also tell you when the funds will be available.
If your deposit is not made directly to on of the staff, or if we decide to place a "hold" after you have left the premises, we will mail you the notice by the day after we receive the deposit.
As previously stated, the credit union policy is to generally make funds available immediately upon deposit.
